!TempDir V1.39 02/09/05
-----------------------

This program places an icon on the IconBar which you can drag and drop
files onto in order to save them to disc quickly.

Some people found the Ramdisc a bit of pain because it has a limited size,
eats RAM plus if you forget to save its contents then they are lost when
the computer crashes or if you switch off in a hurry.

Some people place their temporary files into the root of their main harddrive
but this tends to make the root directory look very messy indeed.

WHAT DOES IT DO?
----------------
When it is run each day it creates a directory with todays date (eg 28/04/01)
in the same root directory of your !Boot application.

eg ADFS::Harddisc4.$.TempDir.28/04/01 for example.

A SELECT click on the icon open todays directory and ADJUST closes it.

Alternatively a mouse drag of files to the icon places the files into
todays directory.

This sounds simple and it is. But it also make a surprisingly neat way
of storing files you collect during the day in a very tidy and organised
manner.

INSTALLING FOR THE FIRST TIME
-----------------------------

Simply double click on !TempDir to start it.

You will be prompted to give the ok to create a directory in the root of your
Boot drive and you'll see the TempDir icon on the icon bar.

You then just drag files or directories to this icon to save them.

For long term use we recommend you place !TempDir in your
!Boot.Choices.Boot.Tasks directory so that it is automatically loaded when you
switch on your computer.

However if you've got RISC OS 4 or above then add it to your Boot Sequence
'Run' panel in !Boot > Boot

End.
